X-Men villain killed by heroine in new Marvel comics

A brutal murder marks the end of Knights of X!

In the very last phase X-Men in comics, heroes are divided into several teams – and one of these groups deals with supernatural threats. You Knights X (a new version excalibur) must fight to save the mutant race from its clutches Merlin Mageand now the villain has just met his end in a rather brutal way!

AT Knights X #5 (by using TSB RF), written Tiny Howard and illustrated Bob Quinnwe see the final battle between the heroes Marvel and Merlin, as well as himself King Arthur. Lately, the magician has been trying to use the power of the Star Citadel to try and destroy what he believes to be a “race of witches”, i.e. mutants.

Although, Betsy Braddocka captain britain, has its own plans and will not allow the magician to practice the genocide of an entire species. So, at the end of the issue, she finds Merlin and decides to use her sword to cut him off, although this moment is not shown in the comics.

Captain Britain kills Merlin.

“I know this won’t be the end for you. You are too smart for that”comments Betsy, realizing that Merlin’s death will not be final. “But for now, Universe Greatest Merlin, for the strength of the British Captain Corps and for protecting the Multiverse, I sentence you to death. It’s the best for the story.”

The most curious thing about all this is that Merlin was responsible for creating Captains of the British Corps, currently represented by Betsy on Earth-616. Although he is hailed as a wise and kind character in the Arthurian legends, in the comics, this character has always been considered a villain. Marvelsince its first appearance in Young Allies #11since 1943.

In addition, the magician also made some mistakes that directly led to his fall into Knights Xsince his plan was to leave open a portal between external world as well as Krakoaso that he could send his armies to exterminate the mutants – however, this gave an advantage to the Children of the Atom, who were able to contain the invasion and attack Merlin right at his home.

Knights X #5 sold on newsstands in North America but not yet published in Brazil.
