The real reason Garfield hates Mondays
Interestingly, the ginger cat hates the beginning of the week for the same reason you hate Mondays.
when you think about Garfield, it is customary to remember lasagna and the contempt of the orange cat for Monday. Almost a catchphrase of a character in comics, because there is an explanation for all this disgust for the most hated day of the week.
In an interview with huffington postCreator Jim Davis gave the cat a reason not to like Monday – and to be honest, this is very close to most people:
“Garfield doesn’t have a job and doesn’t even go to school, so every day is the same. However, every Monday serves as a reminder that his life is the same, always restarting the same cycle, and yet it is on Mondays that terrible things tend to happen to him, physically.”
So any time you identify with Garfield saying that he hates Monday, know that the real reason is probably the same one that you also resent the arrival of a new week on Sunday evening.
Even Jim Davis himself knows this, and the creator believes that the whole popularity of the character is precisely because he proudly takes this side:
“The first thing I did with Garfield was lines like, “I hate Mondays, I wish they started a little later” and all these things that people didn’t want to talk about, so they used Garfield to talk for them. People are attracted to his attitude because he is an outlet for those moments.”
Garfield started as a newspaper strip in 1976 which became a worldwide phenomenon with animation and even two films. live actionin which the cat had a voice Bill Murray (ghost hunter) In the original language.
