The House of the Dragon, a spin-off of Game of Thrones, used props from The Witcher and Warcraft for the Iron Throne.

A new version of the Iron Throne is coming!

Dragon House is the next HBO series to take viewers to Westeros, just like game of Thrones. This time, the plot will focus on a dispute between the Targaryens, with iron throne still at the center of it all. But the throne will not be quite the way the public saw it before.

Official images of the series have already shown that a new version of the Iron Throne will appear in the series, apparently in an attempt to bring the object closer to its description in the books. In the books, the throne is described as massive enough to block light from entering the room, as well as ugly and deformed. This is because it was made from the melted swords of enemies defeated by the Targaryens. AT game of Throneshowever, despite the swords, it didn’t have that aspect, being much simpler and more symmetrical.

As you can see in the picture, this has changed in Dragon House. But for this it was necessary to use several swords – including those from sets Witcherfrom Netflix and even from the movie military craft. Co-showrunner of the new series, Miguel Sapochnikit is estimated that around 2,500 swords were used to create the scenery, including several real swords.

“We literally had to put up fences when we were building [o Trono de Ferro]” he said Entertainment Weekly. “Some are real swords. It’s just as dangerous as in the books.”

In addition to Sapochnik, a Game of Thrones veteran, the project Ryan Kondal (the colony) as showrunner. Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Paddy Considine, Fabienne Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno as well asEva Best are part of the cast of the series.
