How is Thor: Love and Thunder related to Venom?

The stories have one big common element!

Thor: Love and Thunder, the new film from Marvel Studios, marks the debut of the Mighty Thor and Butcher of the Gods Gorr in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The duo has become the talk of the town, but another more subtle addition that hides a connection with the potential to bring Venom MCU spotlight: Necrosword.

The origin of the sword is not revealed in the film. The plot only explains that the weapon appears in the legends of Asgard as an artifact capable of killing gods. Gorr uses his power to manipulate the shadows, creating mysterious creatures that take on a different context in the comics.

The Necro Sword first appeared in the magazine Thor: God of Thunder #2written Jason Aaron, presented as the weapon of the Butcher of the Gods. But years later it turned out that, like Venom, this weapon was a symbiote … All Blackthe first symbiote created by Knull.
