Queen Sonja of Norway opened the exhibition “Open Doors” with part of her art collection in Dronning Sonja KunstStall, an exhibition hall that was created from the former stables of the Royal Palace in Oslo. The opening was attended by many guests, and the Queen of Norway was accompanied by Crown Princess Mette-Marit and, for the first time, Maud Angelique Behn, eldest daughter of Martha Louise of Norway.
Thus, Queen Sonja’s granddaughter attended the official event with her grandmother., again revealing his taste for art, a characteristic he shares with Queen Sonja. The part of the collection, which is on display until November 2022, has been in the making for over 65 years and brings together, for the most part, contemporary art. According to the Real Audiencia, its complete collection consists of 1,600 works, half of which are owned by female artists.
“It’s amazing to see your own life on the walls”, – Queen Sonya admitted during the opening of the collection, which she had been collecting since she was 15 years old. In addition, the opening was also attended by curator Sune Nordgren, who dedicated a few words to the Queen of Norway: “Queen Sonja’s strong love for nature is reflected again and again in the collection,” she admitted to viewing the works on display.
There were many who accompanied the Queen on such a special day, 100 guests, including some of the artists on display, witnessed the inauguration. In addition to the main exhibition, which presents most of the works, They also installed an additional pavilion in relation to the exhibition.

The exhibition was opened by Museum Director Astrup Fearnley Solveig Ovstebø, who also spoke about the Queen’s extensive collection: “I find the title of this exhibition very fitting.
