Within this framework and together with the past Singles’ Daylogistics operator DB Schenker, specializing in supply chain management, has planned increases from 40% to 50% by volume of e-commerce orders managed by the company in November.

The company is faced with the task of providing the service on the appointed day, starting signal for Christmas shoppingintroducing innovative technologies to automate its warehouses, while promoting circular economy practices among its customers in line with its commitment to promoting more environmentally responsible trading.

These systems not only optimize the processing of large volumes of products, but also ensure timely delivery during periods of high demandlike Black Friday.

In this sense, the company has installed AutoStore in one of its warehouses in Gothenburg (Sweden), an advanced system that allows you to efficiently manage online orders and returns processes through use of automated warehouse robots that manage and restore containers supported by intelligent software.

André Lehnen, global e-commerce business development manager at DB Schenker, explained that “continuous innovation is essential, which is expressed for example in highly automated e-commerce warehouses with robots, but also digital solutions so that a data-driven supply chain can respond to both our customers’ demands and market trends.”

Similarly, the operator integrates solutions for the circular economy which facilitate product returns and encourage renewal and resale among their customers. “Given the rising costs and bottlenecks we currently face in manufacturing, it is more important than ever to find ways to reuse products. Our experience shows that our customers are increasingly willing to purchase used products,” commented Lehnen.
