The county real estate fair kicked off this Wednesday in Barcelona with a nearly two-hour delay due to an intrusion by activists into the fair grounds, which they opposed, believing that it brings together speculators and “poverty propagandists.”

Around 300 people have demonstrated since 09:00 this Wednesday at the gates of the Montjuïc Fairgrounds against the holding of this real estate fair.

Several dozen of these demonstrators stormed into the first session, which began at 9:10 am, forcing a break as the Mossos d’Esquadra asked the congressmen to leave the hall to evict the activists. Efe says.

Inside the pavilion, a group of activists held a sit-in and unfurled a banner reading “Defensem la vida, parem District” (“Defend Life, Stop the District”).

Faced with a request from agents of the Mosos Mediation Group to voluntarily leave the building, some of the demonstrators left without resistance, but others were forced to vacate one at a time by the regional police, who installed and set them up. convicted of disobedience and that he arrested one of them.

About fifty social, regional and political organizations signed a joint manifesto against the holding of The District real estate fair in Barcelona and announced protests today.

About 250 real estate firms are present at the fair, including investment funds, large landowners, administrators, developers, marketing agencies, consultants or property managers.
