Children’s Day has its ups and downs depending on the inflation of the most consumed goods and services in 2022. Over the past 12 months, growth has averaged 13.7%. Last year, the average change was 10.2%.
The survey, conducted by XP economist Tatiana Nogueira, also assessed travel, as many families leave either for Catholic holidays or even to visit family members. Airfare prices rose 74.9%, while lodging prices rose 22%.
And if the plan is to take the kids out to eat, food intake has also increased. Whether it’s lunch or ice cream, growth ranges from 8.4% to 16.8%, up from last year.
“The reopening of the economy after the pandemic has allowed establishments to adjust their prices in light of these higher costs,” explains the researcher.
What about the most desired gifts on this day? The average increase is 9%, with toy prices up 20%. On the other hand, video games and personal computers were the only ones whose prices fell during this period. The explanation, according to the economist, lies in the normalization of the production chain with the participation of technology.
