The volume of square meters built in Peña on the north coast of Santa Catarina jumped from 71,000 m² in 2019 to 341 thousand m² in 2021.
Before 202320 more major works are expected to be completed in the city.
Data from the Office of Administration and Finance of Peña, on the north coast of Santa Catarina, shows that 71,000 m² were built in the city in 2019, and that number jumped to 341,000 m² last year, an increase of almost 400%.
The Planning Department says 20 projects are already under portfolio review and work will begin in the city in the coming months.
“Civil construction and municipal revenue growth go hand in hand, so we expect broad social growth in the coming years. To this end, we have also stepped up strategic tourism infrastructure work to make Peña a reliable destination.”commented the Minister of Administration and Finance, Eduardo Bueno.
One of the works soon to start in the city is by Amazon Parques & Resorts, which should have more 90 thousand m² area, including timeshare towers and a theme park with over 60 rides.
It will also feature a Wyndham Garden-branded hotel owned by the North American hotel chain Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, one of the largest companies in the sector with operations worldwide. 9 thousand hotels 95 countries.
The first phase of work for Amazon Parques & Resorts has already begun.
It consists of three towers in a multi-apartment system, with completion scheduled for 2025.
It is located next to Beto Carrero World, clearly inspired by Orlando, Florida and its relationship with Disney parks.
