Hang, 59, owns the Havan department store chain, which has more than 100 physical stores across the country, according to the publication. He founded the company in 1986 with his former partner Wanderlei de Limas at the age of 24 and today controls virtually the entire company.
He is the only one from Santa Catarina among the ten richest people in Brazil.
Topping the list is 82-year-old Jorge Paulo Lehmann of Rio de Janeiro, who is worth R$72 billion from AB Inbev/3G Capital.
There are almost 300 names in the rankings and only one woman in the top ten: Vicki Sarfati Safra, 69. Her R$37.5 billion fortune is inherited from her husband, banker Joseph Safra of Safra Bank, who died in 2020.
