Today there will be a monthly meeting of the FIESC Board of Directors and Councils with a political agenda. Businessmen are going to analyze the contents of the Letter of Industry, a document that is issued to all candidates for the government of Santa Catarina in state elections.
The charter serves several purposes. First, to bring to the attention of all candidates, parties and coalitions the basic demands of the manufacturing sector and the population of the state.
The second is aimed at obtaining the commitment of candidates to the proposals contained in it. To do this, a meeting will be held with the candidates’ advisers so that they can position themselves precisely according to the proposals formalized there.
Fiesc President Mario César de Aguiar has already sent an official invitation to government candidates for an industrial letter ceremony scheduled for September 23 at the Federation’s headquarters.
Yesterday, the Council of Santa Catarina-Coffem Business Federations released a memo bolstering its stance in defense of the sustainability of Social Security at both the state and federal levels.
The demonstration is a reaction to the statements of the candidates during the debate about the failures in pension reform. For organizations, changes made in recent years are essential to ensure that benefits are paid to current and future retirees.
Cofem believes that the ongoing pre-election debate is an opportunity to evaluate recent reforms and move forward with new changes if necessary.
