Founder and President International financial analysts (Afi) and the Afi School of Finance Emilio Ontiveros passed away this Monday at the age of 74, as confirmed by sources close to Europe Press.

Born in 1948, Ontiveros was an economist and professor emeritus of economics at Autonomous University of Madrid, of which he also served as Vice-Chancellor for four years. Similarly, the economist worked at Harvard University as a member Advanced Research Group in International Economics in 2005.

His legacy includes a large number of books, articles and specialized collaborations on international economics and finance, in addition to several collaborations in various media and specialized journals.

From 2014 to 2019, Ontiveros was a member of the board of directors of Iberdrola Spain. In 2019 he was named an honorary colleague of the Official College of Architects of Madrid; and in 2020, he became a member of the Economic Advisory Council of the Ministry of Economy and Digital Transformation.
