Consumers expect the gasoline price adjustment announced for refineries to also affect the price sold at gas stations. Without the discount, the average cost of a liter of regular gasoline in the state sells for around R$5.94. It is estimated that, with adjustments, the average cost of a liter in the territory of Santa Catarina reaches 5.79 reais. This is taking into account a discount of 0.15 reais per pump calculated by Sindopolis (Sindicato do Comércio Retajista de Combustiveis Minerales from Florianopolis).
The average price was calculated based on data collected by the ANP (Agência Nacional do Petroleo). According to an ANP survey conducted July 10-16, seven cities in Santa Catarina recorded below the state average gasoline consumption per liter.
The municipality of Tubarao had the lowest average cost of a liter of fuel in the state, selling for 5.55 reais. There, if a discount of 0.15 R$ cents is applied, the average cost per liter could be R$ 5.40.
The highest average among the Santa Catarina municipalities included in the study was in Cásadora, where a liter cost R$6.46. If the reduction is applied to positions in the municipality, the average should be around R$6.31.
In the capital of Santa Catarina, according to the survey, a liter of gasoline sold on average for 5.95 reais and can reach 5.80 reais at a gas station, taking into account the reduction.
Refinery adjustment
On Tuesday (19), Petrobras announced that the price of gasoline sold by the refinery will decrease by 4.9%, by about 0.20 reais per liter. The measure takes effect this Wednesday (20).
With the price drop, the price of a liter sold to refineries should drop from R$4.06 to R$3.86. The discount at the gas station should be less, because to get to gas stations, there are distributor intermediaries who buy from refineries and resell.
