Russia was the second gas supplier to Spain in June with a 24.4% share, behind only the US, according to the Enagás (gas system manager) statistical bulletin. Thus, Spain forgets about Algeria, which becomes the third supplier with a share of 21.6%. As for the USA, their share is 29.6%.

In particular, 8,752 gigawatt-hours (GWh) came from Russia in June, four times the amount imported in the same month a year ago (2,163 GWh). On the other hand, gas imports from Algeria were down 57.3% compared to June 2021, to 7,736 GWh from 18,123 GWh a year ago.

Similarly, the United States continued to be the main supplier of gas to Spain for the sixth consecutive month in June, with 10,618 GWh, representing 29.6% of all imported gas, which is almost two and a half times the amount of gas entering Spain from this country in June 2021.

As for the first six months of the year, the US continues to be the main exporter with 78,078 GWh imported in the first half of the year, representing 34.4% of the total. In the yearly total, Algeria continues to hold the second position with a weight close to 25% of the total with 55,962 GWh. For its part, Russia is in second place with 10.1% of total gas imports, i.e. 22,948 GWh.
