Monthly price inflation for food and services in Florianopolis, recorded since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, in June 2022 had the smallest increase recorded in the past two years. The index was 0.15%, which was equal only in April 2020 from 14%.
The percentage prepared by the ICV (Cost of Living Index) Esag/UDESC (Center for Management and Social and Economic Sciences of the University of Santa Catarina) with the support of Fesag (Esag Foundation) confirmed the downward trend of the figure since March 2021, when inflation peaked at 1 .21%.
In April of this year, the index fell to less than 1% in April. In May, the fall was 0.36%. Check by sector:
Transport and personal care
With consumption of 22% of the family budget, prices for products related to transport decreased by an average of 0.43%. The decrease was due to fuel for cars, which fell in price by 4%. Clothing items also fell, accounting for -1.36%.
In health and personal care, the record was -0.60%. Communication services -0.56% and education -0.14% are registered.
Food and drink
As the second group with the largest impact on household income, consuming about 21% of earnings, the food and beverage sector, contrary to what has been recorded so far, has seen inflation rise at a record 1.36% over the past month. .
The value is almost double what it was in May, when inflation reached 0.71%. The prices of foodstuffs bought at fairs and in supermarkets for home consumption increased the most, by an average of 1.90%. Milk and derivatives went up by 13.9%.
The highlight of the latter is long-term milk with an inflation increase of 21.6%, Minas cheese with an increase of 6.2%, as well as milk powder and yogurt, the latter with 6%. In addition to food, services related to housing increased by 0.51%.
Personal expenses increased by 0.51% and household items by 0.72%.
As a result, cumulative inflation stands at 4.45% in 2022 and 10.19% over the past 12 months, according to a study published by Udesc.
