The 24-year-old driver was arrested by the Prime Minister (Military Police) this Sunday (10) after causing an accident while trying to escape with 156 kg of marijuana in the car he was driving in the area of São João do Rio Vermelho. in Florianopolis. According to surveillance cameras, the accident occurred at 12:56 p.m.
According to the PMSC, a brigade from the 21st BPM (Military Police Battalion) was conducting preventive patrols in the area when they noticed that a driver had almost caused an accident.
The premier said the group attempted to approach the driver, but the suspect fled shortly after. During the escape, the car driven by the criminal collided with another vehicle with passengers on board.
The prime minister said the perpetrator tried to escape after drug tablets fell out of the car following a collision.
The occupants of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by the CBMSC (Military Fire Service of Santa Catarina) crew and then transported to HGCR (Hospital Governor Celso Ramos).
A total of 232 marijuana tablets were seized, which is equivalent to 156 kg of the drug. The criminal was arrested and taken to the PCSC (Civilian Police) Center in Florianópolis.
