Influential personality Raquel Pacheco, known as Bruna Surfistinha, was accused of abandoning a Labrador and three cats, rescued on Thursday (30), in an apartment in the center of Sao Paulo.
According to activist Louise Mell, who reported on Bruna Surfistinha, Raquel lived in a rented apartment and left the animals alone. The influencer went there to feed and water the animals, but stopped going more than a week ago.
Louise’s friend, the building manager, tracked her down and filed a police report. After the statement, police officers from the 2nd DIICMA (department for investigating environmental offenses) went to the address.
The animals were found without food in a dirty apartment
The house was full of urine and feces, and there was no food or water in the food containers. The Labrador dog and three cats were collected and taken to an NGO where they will be cared for.
Louise Mell said she spoke to Bruna, who said she was a pet carer. The influencer contacted the post, but did not comment prior to the publication of this text.
A case has been registered at the 2nd police station of the investigation department for cruelty to animals and other environmental offences.
If convicted, Bruna Surfistinha could pay a minimum fine of R$10,000 for crimes against animals.
A proposed law that increases the minimum fine for those who abuse or mistreat animals to R$10,000 was approved by the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee of the Chamber of Deputies this Wednesday (29).
