Starting this Monday (6), Mais Médicos program professionals begin the MAAv (Welcome and Assessment Module), a face-to-face and mandatory course before starting activities in municipalities. The training will take place simultaneously in Sao Paulo, Salvador and Belo Horizonte. There will be 135 doctors working in Santa Catarina.
The course is scheduled to be completed in December this year.
The federal government’s “More Doctors” program will involve 3,430 foreign-trained Brazilian doctors and six foreigners working for SUS in 1,309 cities across all regions of Brazil.

Mais Médicos aims to recruit 28 thousand doctors by the end of 2023, with a priority to ensure care and access to health care for populations in municipalities with greater social vulnerability, border regions and health care shortages, in the legal Amazon region and on the outskirts . large cities.
The new health care professionals will join the 21,000 physicians currently employed by the program.
The resumption of the program guarantees access to health care for more than 96 million Brazilians. Upon completion of the course, 1,291 doctors trained in São Paulo will be sent to cities in the southern region and the state of São Paulo.
