Dengue cases jumped 138% in just seven days. According to the latest disease bulletin prepared by Dive/SC (Santa Catarina Epidemiological Surveillance Directorate), there were 142 confirmed cases as of February 8. Now there are 339 of them.

Compared to the same period in 2022, when 326 cases of dengue were confirmed in the state, the number of confirmed cases increased by 4% to 339.
Of the total cases confirmed so far, 266 are autochthonous (transmission within the state) and distributed in 20 municipalities of Santa Catarina.
The number of foci also increased. Last week there were 9,209 versus 10,512 in this report.

From January 2 to December 31, 2022, over 67,000 dengue mosquito outbreaks were reported in 233 municipalities of Santa Catarina. There have been 138,000 cases in the state alone, with 90 deaths, according to Dive.
A total of 67,288 outbreaks of the Aedes aegypti mosquito were detected in the state during the same period from January 2 to December 31, 2022. This number was registered in 233 municipalities of Santa Catarina, approximately 78% of the state.
Compared to the same period in 2021, when 60,460 outbreaks were detected in 225 municipalities, the number of detected outbreaks increased by 11.3%, according to Dive.
