The military police have confirmed that a suspect in the kidnapping of two children in Jaragua do Sul, north of Santa Catarina, was arrested around 3:00 pm this Thursday (1st). He was taken to the police station to testify.
The suspect was found on Herbert Bauman Street, Jaragua 84, the same area where the crime took place.
According to information gathered by the military police, a ten-year-old boy and girl were returning from school early Thursday afternoon when they were allegedly approached by an adult at 99 Alvin Meyer Street, Jaragua District, at 12:20 pm.
According to the victims themselves, the man tied the boy in the shirt to a banana tree, and took the girl to the bank of the stream, where he would have tried to drown her.
“Because he could not, he took off her clothes and began to perform libidinal acts,” the prime minister said.
The accused would still have tried to cross the stream with the victim. It was then that the owner of the banana plantation appeared, forcing the man to leave the girl and run away.
The military police identified the suspect and carried out searches with the support of the nursery. He managed to detain the suspect returning home in the same area where the crime occurred.
Victims and witnesses identified the man, who is now at the police station.
The man already has a criminal record for robbery, involvement in drugs, violence against women and suspicion of murder.
