The City of Florianópolis launched this Monday (17th) a new phase of Operation Fio Desencarado to monitor the state of storage of materials in the institution and stop possible illegal trade in metal materials.
According to Florianopolis Minister of Security Araujo Gomes, the operation is an action in which all inspection bodies of the mayor’s office work. This phase of the operation also aims to test the public health part, with the support of the Sanitary Inspection Service, to study possible points of water stagnation and the spread of dengue mosquitoes.
By noon this Monday, the operation had already collected more than three tons of rubble from downtown Florianopolis.
Also, according to Araujo, environmental audits will be carried out to check for any violations in the environment and a check of the legal part of the enterprise. During checks, agents find out if the materials found inside the institution are of dubious origin.
The work was attended by representatives of the Municipal Guard of Florianopolis, the Municipal Ecological Fund, the Office of Public Services and the Municipal Prosecutor. The action was also supported by Celesc. Operação Fio Descapado is an inter-institutional action aimed at reducing the theft of wires, plates and metal objects by stricter control of possible reception points.
Other stages
Other stages of the operation have already been completed. On September 22, an inspection was carried out elsewhere in Florianopolis, during which several violations were revealed in the work of the institution. The unorthodox arrangement of recycled materials at Caeira do Saco dos Limoes in Florianópolis has become the goal of Operação Fio Descapado.
According to the mayor’s office, several inspections have already been carried out on the premises, and the owner has been notified and fined several times by the sanitary inspection.
