She-Hulk: Kevin Feige was annoyed by the detail of the final episode
Details had to be cut out in pre-production.
Attention: spoiler!
The latest episode of She-Hulk, which aired this Thursday (13), sparked a curious clash between Jennifer Walters and KEVIN – a robotic parody of himself Kevin Feige. However, President Mr. miracle studios he was bothered by a small detail of this satire that was still in preparation: the presence of his iconic cap.
According to the lead writer of the series, Jessica Gao, to the Phase Zero podcast, the idea of She-Hulk leaving the screen to complain to her creators has long been in the works. But when the first AI concept art depicting Feige was ready, the president got down to business with the execution.
“We had a fight over the cap because the script said She-Hulk would go into the room with the boss. There is a big car like Hal-9000 with Akira. The preview team has already begun sketching out all sorts of versions of Kevin. Everyone had a little black cap on top [do robô]. The real Kevin said, “You can’t have… It doesn’t make sense for a machine to wear that hat.” And I thought, “Kevin, is that the only problem you have with all of this?”
The screenwriter was shocked that the president didn’t see the problem with being presented as an artificial intelligence brain that runs the studio on an algorithmic basis, but rather with a robot wearing a hat. After some insistence, she abandoned the idea.
The production team also really wanted the character to be voiced by Kevin Feige himself, but even after much urging, the president wouldn’t budge.
“That’s not Kevin’s voice, that’s the voice of the actor we hired.” admits Gao, “We strongly pushed for Kevin to do the voice work, but he refused.”
It looks like the president took the joke with his iconic caps to heart. But also you? What do you think of this participation? Don’t forget to comment!
