On death row for murder, Alan Eugene Miller pleads with the authorities for a previously unused method of execution. The reason is that he is afraid of needles.
The convict asked to be executed by nitrogen hypoxia, and not by lethal injection, for fear of being stung.
He was sentenced to death for the murder of three employees in Pelham, New York in 1999.
Alan brutally murdered Lee Holdbrooks and Scott Yancey by opening fire at their workplace at Ferguson Enterprises. On August 5, a staff member found the bodies inside the building. According to the prosecutor’s office, Alan went to his old place of work, and also shot and killed employee Terry Jarvis.
Method
According to NPR, the defendant says prison officials have lost documents detailing a request for a nitrogen hypoxia method that causes death using nitrogen instead of oxygen.
The method was approved for execution in Alabama and two other states in 2018 but has never been tested. The execution is scheduled for September 22.
