TV presenter Fernanda Keulla took to social media last Monday (25th) to inform the public about the reason for her absence.
In a post in a hospital image, Fernanda explained that she was admitted to the hospital to control recurrent pain caused by herpes zoster, the same illness that paralyzed Justin Bieber’s face in late June.

In the text, the presenter explains that she has been hospitalized since last Thursday (21) to control the severe pain caused by the illness. She also took advantage of the publication to warn about it, specifying that the condition is caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus in the body.
“Chickenpox is the varicella-zoster virus (which I contracted as a child) that incubates in the nerves. Due to low immunity in my body, anxiety, stress, the varicella-zoster virus reactivated, which caused me severe (unbearable) pain and blisters on the skin,” he said.
She says that even after being discharged, she must continue her treatment at home, and asks for help from her followers. “I count on your prayers and patience. In the name of Jesus, I will be back soon. With love, Nanda,” he concludes.
Herpes zoster vaccine
The shingles vaccine Shingrix arrived in Brazil in June at private clinics. The SBIM (Brazilian Society for Immunization) explains in a document that the only vaccine available against this disease was Zostavaz, which consists of live attenuated viruses. The new immunizer uses an inactivated virus with over 90% efficiency.

According to SBIM, the vaccine is important for people with immunosuppression. They describe the new technology as “an exceptional new tool for the prevention of herpes zoster in people aged 18 and over” who are immunocompromised or in other risk situations.
The cost in Florianopolis can reach 1600 reais.
It is worth noting that a survey conducted by ND+ showed that in Florianopolis, vaccinations cost 1,600 reais. They are used in two doses with an interval of 30 to 60 days.
Upon request, clinics offer installment packages of up to 12 payments in addition to cash or pix discounts. For those who must opt for a credit card, the greater the number of installments, the more the cost is also paid out. In these cases, the price can reach 1699 reais.
