Marco Antonio Pereira Gomes, known as Ze Trovao, returned to the scene shortly after another increase in fuel prices. Recalling that the increase announced by Petrobras on Friday (17) for diesel and gasoline caused an uprising in several sections of society, especially in the field of transport.

Ze Trovao gained popularity as an advocate for truckers and demonstrations in favor of closing the Federal Supreme Court. He even fled to Mexico, surrendered to the federal police, was arrested in Joinville, released a few months later and is now a federal candidate for Santa Catarina.
Encouraged by Bolsonaro, as reported in the Noblat blog on Portal Metropoles, Ze Trovao posted a video calling on truck drivers to protest in front of oil refineries and in front of Petrobras on 27 fuel, the protest could turn into a strike. .

“I have obligations to my brothers on the road. I will ask all truckers not to stop on the 20th, we will wait another week and on Monday, the 27th, then we will take action. We all go to the refinery front, and those in Brasilia go to the Petrobras front. Then we’ll make a stop. This is how we reach our goal. Otherwise it won’t work. Truck drivers, don’t stop on the road and don’t stop the BR,” Ze Trovao urged in the video.
The activist also revealed that the category wants a 25% discount on diesel and a 15% discount on gasoline and alcohol.
“If that doesn’t happen, we will organize something next week,” Ze Trovao assured.
Noblat recalled that Michel Temer, while still president of the republic, connected fuel prices with changes in the price of a barrel of oil on the international market. Bolsonaro could have unhooked him, but he would not have had the courage to do so.

Outrage of affected categories
Abrava (Brazilian Association of Vehicle Drivers) President Wallace Landim said the group was “outraged by the news of a new increase in fuel prices after 39 days of the last increase.”
In addition to criticizing the actions of the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro and the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, Landim warned of the risks of a shortage of diesel fuel and a strike.
“The truth is, one way or another, if Petrobras’ brutal pricing policy continues, the country will come to a standstill again. If not because of the strike, then because of wages. Strike most likely. This is not just a struggle of truck drivers, but of the entire Brazilian people,” he adds.
At the state level, Fetrancesc (Federation of Freight Transport and Logistics Companies in the state of Santa Catarina) also expressed dissatisfaction with the increase through a note.
“This change has a huge negative impact on the provision of road freight transport services in the country, responsible for the logistics of more than 60% of everything that is produced and consumed in Brazil,” emphasizes the federation.
The federation argues that this increase will result in a freight adjustment from 5% to 9% and is guiding a revision of the international parity pricing policy concept.
