The most famous and popular beach on Santa Catarina’s north coast, Enseada, will be getting a new shore, as announced a few months ago. However, now the multi-million dollar project has gained momentum. The mayor’s office promised to start work on the new Enseada waterfront on its own.
The state government has already approved a work agreement with a budget of 28 million reais, with 22 million reais from the state to be transferred over two years: 11 million in 2023 and another 11 million in 2024.
“We entered with 6 million reais as a counterparty. We are reviewing the project, so as soon as we sign the agreement, we will be able to bid. It should be signed before the end of the month due to the election period,” said government secretary Tuffi Michereff Neto.
In addition, according to the state secretary, the municipality is coordinating some details with the federal public ministry.
“This is a difficult job, but we are going through stages, so we will start with municipal resources,” he concluded.
What will be done
The project spans the entire waterfront and includes improvements to public sidewalks, bike paths, new pavement, road signs, and residential areas with plazas, a stage, and a fountain.
