On Tuesday, about 70,000 consumer units were left without electricity in Balneario Camboriu and Camboriu on the northern coast of the state (30).
A cable break on a power line that supplies energy to a substation serving cities. Celesc suspects a kite is causing the problem.
By Tuesday evening, around 18:00, the situation had already been resolved. According to Pedro Molleri, regional manager of Celesc, the problem could have started in the Cidade Nova area of Itajai.

“Here, in the area of Cidade Nova, there was a cable break on a power line that transmits energy to a substation serving the cities of Balneario Camboriu and Camboriu. This ended up with our substation going out of service and about 70,000 consumers without electricity, about 22,000 in Camboriu and 48,000 in Balneario Camboriu,” explains Pedro.
Celesk’s team went to the site and analyzed the situation.
Most likely, according to the manager of Celesc, the cable broke due to a kite.
Pedro notes that kites, especially those using cerol line, end up causing problems with electrical wiring and cables, as well as creating risks.
