Residents ‘celebrate’ three-month anniversary of open well on Joinville Street

-

Residents of the Floresta neighborhood “celebrated” the three-month anniversary of the discovery of a well on Joinville Street, north of Santa Catarina. According to the population, the hole has been open since February 23 and has not been closed yet. In addition, new maintenance was no longer carried out on site.

The hole was opened in Rua Francisco Alves in the Floresta area to carry out work on the Copacabana axis, which is undergoing a pipe replacement process to obtain an asphalt layer.

“A very sarcastic joke that we decided to play because our street is the BR-101 exit, a very busy street, and this hole in front of the residential and business center is a risk of accidents. I hope this game will bring positive results to complete this work,” commented a resident on social media.

“The work itself is not abandoned, which is not cool, and it’s not only the Copacabana Axis, it’s their work schedule, they start something, don’t finish and jump to another stage,” another resident said in a post about the “Birthday” of the hole .

According to the City Hall of Joinville, work on the site was affected by a lack of details for the gallery. Infrasul, the company responsible for the work, was notified and forced to change suppliers. Work on site is expected to resume in the coming days.

Completion of works on site could take about three weeks, but the time may be extended depending on weather conditions, the mayor’s office said.

In addition, the mayor’s office also said that the hole cannot be closed until the work on the gallery is completed. Typically, these galleries are opened for more than one intervention, and closing them requires the entire process to be completed.

For the president of Amosfa (Association of the Residents of San Francisco de Assis) of the Floresta district, Heraldo Hostin Junior, lack of planning in getting the job done. “I can’t miss [peças]. This is a big job. Didn’t know how many tubes they would need? Wasn’t everything designed?” he asks.

“The sleep of the community is overloaded, there is no supervision, the work is in chaos. We know there will be devastation, but there can be no disorganization and mess that worries residents, ”he concludes.
