A 26-year-old man died in a serious accident on Saturday morning (25) in Guaramirim, north of Santa Catarina. The head-on collision occurred around 5:40 am at km 41 of the SC-108 motorway in the village of Barro Branco, near the border with Massaranduba.

According to the PMRv (military traffic police) report, the accident involved a Ford EcoSport and a Honda NXR 150 Bros KS motorcycle, both with Guaramirim license plates. The driver of the car, a 55-year-old man, underwent an alcohol test, which confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol before driving.

The man was arrested red-handed and taken to the Jaragua do Sul police station for appropriate procedures. The motorcyclist, who was rescued with serious injuries, died before he was taken to the hospital. His identity is not revealed.
