Civilian police have arrested a suspect and possible perpetrator of the attack on a resident of Chapeco in the western part of Santa Catarina. According to information provided by the civilian police, the arrests were made on this Saturday morning (18). The 69-year-old victim was attacked in bed as she was about to sleep.
The suspect in the attack was detained in the Bom Pastor area. A woman suspected of ordering the crime was arrested in Kasador. She lived in Chapeco and was a neighbor of the victim, but after the case she left the city.
According to information received NDTV West, the suspect’s action lasted about 2 minutes. He would have jumped over the wall, smashed the glass in the door, and attacked the elderly man in bed while he was sleeping early Thursday morning (2).
The victim was found only a few hours later, when he was sent for medical help. The man is still hospitalized in the intensive care unit and inspires care. The injuries were serious, according to information given by the family to the newsroom. NDTV.

At the infirmary, it was determined that he had a severe head injury when he was attacked, possibly with a hammer. He underwent surgery during the night, and on Friday morning (3) he was hospitalized and sedated in the intensive care unit in serious condition.
According to the military police, the only item stolen from the home, including money in the victim’s pocket, was the man’s mobile phone. The house’s electrical network standard was cut off, making it difficult to communicate with the elderly person via the intercom.
An image taken by a security camera showed police that the perpetrator of the crime was a man who wore a hood to hide his face and who broke into the house on Wednesday evening around 11:40 p.m. through the back door.
