A serious traffic accident ended in the death of a motorcyclist on a BR-282, in Iraseminha, in the west of Santa Catarina. The head-on collision occurred around 2:30 am on Saturday (18) at km 622 on the Biguasinho line involving a Honda CG 125 motorcycle and a VW Saveiro, both with Maravilha license plates.
There were the Fire Department, SAMU (Mobile Emergency Service), PRF (Federal Highway Police), Science Police and Civilian Police.
The motorcycle rider was found dead in the back seat of Saveiro, firefighters said. By the time rescuers arrived, he no longer showed any vital signs, and his identity was not revealed.
SAMU rescuers treated a motorcycle driver, a 40-year-old man, who was lying on the side of the road with agitation, signs of bleeding and suspected multiple fractures. He was taken to the emergency room of the San José Hospital in Maravilla for treatment.
The Saveiro driver, a 32-year-old man, was rescued by firefighters with injuries to his left hand and face, and was taken to a San Jose hospital for medical treatment. Rescuers reported that the man was very agitated at the scene.
Inside the car, rescuers found an unopened bottle of beer and several items such as a chainsaw, a drill, turnstiles, an accurate scale and 1 liter of pesticide on the back. Items such as a pickaxe, a shovel and a wheelbarrow, which were also in the car, were scattered around the track.
