An additional bill is being processed in Alesc by Attorney General of Justice Fernando Comin, which aims to regulate the conversion of vacation and vacation balance of Santa Catarina prosecutors into cash.
The project, which has already passed the constitution and justice committees (unanimously), as well as the finance and tax committees (with two votes against), is expected to bring 23.6 million reais to the state treasury.
The proposal has been put on hold since August in the Committee for Work, Administration and Public Service, chaired by MP Mauro de Nadal (MDB).
Explaining the reasons for the request, Fernando Comin argued that during the pandemic, this led to an even greater lack of servers, and these thefts, in addition to compromising the functioning of the ministerial machine, overload active employees.
“As a rule, it is more burdensome for the institution to bear such suspensions than it is to provide them with a reward,” he argued.
The Sargento Lima (PL) State MP who voted against the project in the Finance Committee must take paid leave, otherwise the allowance would not be necessary.
He also says he’s against converting it to cash because of cases that have become commonplace over the years in the public service: highly paid employees didn’t take advantage of bonus leave to use the money to “break” the salary cap. That is, to have three months of additional payment (without deducting income tax) for every five years worked.
