On the night of this Thursday (23) the traffic police rescued the water duck Irere in Rio do Sul, in Alto Vale do Itajai. The animal was found near the PRF (Federal Highway Police) post, on 135 km of the BR-470 highway.

The mallard is a wild animal that is still commonly found in the Vale do Itajaí region. As adults, they can reach 45 cm in height and weigh up to three kilograms.
