On the night of this Thursday (23) the traffic police rescued the water duck Irere in Rio do Sul, in Alto Vale do Itajai. The animal was found near the PRF (Federal Highway Police) post, on 135 km of the BR-470 highway.

Since he was alone and there were no adults nearby, the animal was rounded up and protected by the traffic police on duty. The environmental military police have been called and will return it to nature.

The mallard is a wild animal that is still commonly found in the Vale do Itajaí region. As adults, they can reach 45 cm in height and weigh up to three kilograms.
