Residents of Itapoa, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina, should receive news from the city’s emergency room after prosecutors recommended city hall cancel the current manager’s contract.
According to the state ministry, Itapoa does not regularly support the agreement. The recommendation, by the way, was made after the deputy found out about the illegality of the agreement signed by the government with the current leader for the management and full maintenance of the round-the-clock UPA.
Prosecutor Giovanna Wolf Davelli notes that “the recommendation aims to ensure, in addition to the formal adequacy of the provision of care and management services, that the local population be guaranteed the continuity of basic health care, which is the fundamental right of every citizen.”
On January 30, 2023, the city administration implemented the recommendation. The municipality now has 30 days to document that action has been taken to fully implement the recommendation.
The City may reopen the service or issue a public notice of the new management outsourcing. The ND+ portal tried to contact the Itapoa city hall, but there was no position before the publication of this article. The space remains open.
