The People’s Party this Sunday presented its electoral program for the May 28 regional and municipal elections, with particular emphasis on tax issues in the current inflationary environment. The main proposal is to extend the deflation of personal income tax in line with the CPI for incomes less than 40,000 euros, as well as to gradually reduce other taxes, such as IBI.

In addition, the PP program, drawn up by the former minister Íñigo de la Serna and Carmen Funes, also devotes a separate chapter to the self-employed, for whom it proposes several novelties.

First, PP proposes to reduce the flat rate for the first 12 months of self-employment to zero euros. Currently, the state flat rate is 80 euros, which the regional governments of the PP propose to subsidize 100% during the first 12 months of activity, and also for the next 12 months if the income has not reached the minimum interprofessional wage.

In addition, the new PP program also includes a flat rate of €50 for all self-employed workers under the age of 25 who are studying in regulated or FP higher education during their period of operation.

Another innovation proposed by the PP Self-Employed Program is a generational replacement plan so that the unemployed will be able to continue an existing business that will disappear due to lack of succession.

Thus, the program establishes the creation of a business registry without business succession and training and mentoring programs to cope with the company transition process.

In this section of the program, the PP also emphasizes assistance in hiring the first employee.
