For the reconstruction section of Margem Esquerda, which is approximately 900 meters long, a work order has been signed to begin work in Blumenau. The document was signed by the Governor of Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello, the Mayor of the Municipality, Mario Hildebrandt, and the Vice-Mayor, Maria Regina de Souza Soar, in the Noble Hall of the City Hall after a site visit to Prainha.
After authorities sign the maintenance order, the Margem Esquerda Linear Park will be equipped with walking trails, bike paths, furniture, lighting and viewing platforms for contemplating the river and the city center on September 25. According to the project, the work covers the area connecting Prainha with the Iron Bridge.
“This project to restore the left bank of the Itajai-Azú River is something that the people of Blumenau have dreamed of for many years, as we not only create another area for contemplation, but also give life to this space, especially by connecting the linear park with Prainha, work on which is in its final stages,” says Mayor Mario Hildebrandt.
The reurbanization work of Margema Esquerda is made possible in partnership with the Government of Santa Catarina. The investment amounts to almost 28 million reais. Of this, 24.7 million reais comes from the agreement, and another 3.2 million reais comes from the municipality. The duration of the work is 10 months.

Before signing the decree for the reconstruction of Margem Esquerda, Mayor Mario Hildebrandt accompanied Governor Jorginho Mello and other government officials to the Prainha project, which has been intensified since March this year.
Scheduled for completion in 2023, Prainha will once again be a public gathering space divided into three levels, with river viewing areas, observation decks, a pier, a water mirror, and a restored Vapor Blumenau and Concha Acoustics. Even the Left Bank Linear Park connects to the Prainha area, urbanizing the river bank to the Iron Bridge.
Construtora Steinz, responsible for the work, came second in the tender and agreed to take over the work after the contract was terminated for the remaining contract amount of R$3.3 million. The Prainha revitalization resource was made possible by the Ministry of Tourism.
