The couple were shot dead late Wednesday (15) in Sao Francisco do Sul, on the north coast of Santa Catarina. The crime happened around 23:30 on Ervino Beach.

According to the military police, a witness reported that a woman and a man were sleeping at home when five armed men entered the house and one of them, wearing a hood, fired at the couple.

Daniel Franco Marquez, 22, died at the scene. Tais de Souza, 28, was taken to the hospital by firefighters but died on the ward. According to the witness, she had already been threatened by members of a criminal group.

After committing the crime, the men fled the scene in a car. The Scientific Police and the Civil Police were called in to investigate the case.
