Between January and September of this year, Santa Catarina has received more than 4 billion reais from e-commerce and has, compared to the national average, the largest number of orders in the fashion segment (20.4% vs. 18.3%) and more high income from home appliances. (14.9% versus 14.4%).
The participation of people aged 51 and over is higher in the capital Florianópolis (19.2%) compared to the Brazilian average (16.2%). The data comes from Neotrust, an intelligence solutions company that has one of the largest databases in the Brazilian digital market.
The survey was conducted for the third edition of VTEX Unlock held in Balneario Camboriu by VTEX, a digital commerce platform for large companies and retailers, this Wednesday (5th).
The meeting brought together clients, businessmen, executives and specialists from the main companies in the region with the aim of bringing them together and finding individual trading solutions.
“The South is a region that has seen an increase in e-commerce sales, we want to understand the pain of customers and brands in order to collaborate in developing local digital commerce with what we do best,” said Eric Buzzi, VP of Marketing, sales and alliances. at VTEX. “There is a great opportunity in the region to implement different solutions and market trends in accordance with the specifics of each retailer.”
The survey shows that in the southern region, a credit card was used to pay for 56.5% of bookings made from January to September, higher than the Brazilian average of 54.6%. by 7.2% of billing for the period – against 5.4% on average in Brazil.
In Santa Catarina alone, income from January to September is mostly from people aged 26 to 35.
“Santa Catarina is showing significant e-commerce participation in the South region, accounting for more than 25% of its revenue this year,” said Paulina Diaz, intelligence manager at Neotrust.
“There is an opportunity to expand digital commerce in the food and beverage and healthcare sectors, an option that is not as explored but could increase population and state growth. Logistics, marketplaces and pickup are some of the solutions that can add value to retailers,” he says.
Key points of regional data
Santa Catarina cities with the highest e-commerce revenue between January and September 2022 compared to the same period in 2021: Navegantes (18.6%), Tubarao (15.6%) and Crisium (15.3% ). The capital Florianópolis and Balneario Camboriu grew by 6.3% and 12.4% of government revenues respectively.
Orders for telephony products (16.6%), home appliances (14.9%) and electronics (10.7%) bring the highest revenue in the state. If we talk about the number of orders, then the largest number of orders falls on fashion and accessories (20.9%), cosmetics and perfumes (10.7%), as well as food and drinks (7.1%).
The income (3.7%) and number of e-commerce users (3.6%) in Santa Catarina are more representative of Brazil than the population of Santa Catarina in 2021 (3.4%).
