Businessman Luciano Hang, owner of the Havan chain of stores based in Brusca, in the Itajai Valley, filed an appeal with the Federal Supreme Court (STF) last Monday (5).

The action takes place after a search and seizure of a cell phone, personal data stored in the cloud, blocking of bank accounts and loss of access to the social networks of the entrepreneur.
According to Hang’s defense, these actions are outside the jurisdiction of the STF.
On August 23, Federal Police carried out eight raids and seizures on businessmen who allegedly shared messages containing the coup on WhatsApp groups.
The order came from Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). Among the eight businessmen targeted by the operation is Luciano Hang from Santa Catarina.
“I believe that Minister Alexandre de Moraes was misled because the decision was based solely on an article by journalist Guilherme Amado from the Metropoles website published on August 17, 2022. Then came PT’s campaign coordinator, Senator Randolph Rodriguez (Rede-AP) asking for a bank freeze, jail time and basically a social media ban to keep me quiet.”
Hang’s office also claims that the businessman’s lawyers learned about the decision only from the press. In addition, access to the process took place only on 31 August, eight days after the determination of the STF.
In the document in which Luciano appeals to the FSS, the businessman’s lawyers pointed out several inconsistencies in the decision.
“Since I became a political activist, I have been preaching democracy and freedom of thought and expression so that we can have a fairer and freer country for all Brazilians. I continue to believe in Brazil and in our democracy,” concludes Luciano.
