The Ministry of Health has reported two more new cases of monkeypox in the country, bringing a total of 11 confirmed cases. New detections of monkeypox-infected monkeys were made by the Adolf Lutz Laboratory in São Paulo using the virus isolation method.
The two patients are a Brazilian male, aged between 36 and 38, living in the state of São Paulo and traveling across Europe. Both are clinically stable with no complications and are being monitored by the state and municipal health departments.

According to the ministry, all measures to contain and control the disease were taken immediately after the suspicion of monkeypox was reported, with the isolation of patients and tracing their contacts.
The Ministry of Health, through the Operations Room and the National CIEVS (Health Surveillance Strategic Information and Response Center), continues to communicate directly with the State of São Paulo for case tracking and contact tracing.
So far, Brazil has 11 confirmed cases: seven in Sao Paulo, two in Rio Grande do Sul and two in Rio de Janeiro. Ten more suspicious cases are under investigation. Two of the confirmed cases have been discharged, the rest remain isolated and under observation.
