The 2022 election campaign cannot be considered the lowest level in history, as it hasn’t even started yet, but there are concerns about the ability of some people to overcome the bad events that have already been recorded. In São Miguel do Ouest in March 2018, people attacked protesters in favor of the PT. This time the scene was even more deplorable and took place at the University of Triangulo Mineiro, as announced in its O Tempo newspaper twitter.
Actions are getting more and more radical to the point where PT’s tentative candidacy is announcing the creation of a virtual caravan, which is unprecedented.
These actions are accompanied by all sorts of speculation and even self-sabotage for the sake of victimization. In the last election campaign, we had numerous cases of shelling of caravans, and the most unfortunate of all episodes was the coup against the life of the current president-elect, Jair Bolsonaro.
Scenes like this do nothing to help the electoral process in a country that prides itself on being a democracy.
