Public transport workers in Greater Florianopolis at a meeting on Tuesday evening (7) decided to continue working. At the same time, there will be no public transport stops on this Wednesday (8). The meeting with drivers, assemblers and other workers lasted just over an hour in the center of Florianopolis.
The meeting was held by Sintraturb (Union of Urban Passenger Transport, Road Transport, Tourism, Chartering and School Passengers in the Florianopolis metropolitan area) and divided the categories. 252 votes were cast in favor of accepting the offer of the companies and the city hall of Florianopolis, against 169 workers who chose to strike.
The message tried to contact Sintraturb leader Deonisio Linder, but he does not return calls. According to preliminary information, public transport workers will have an adjustment of about 15% in the ticket (meals / meals), in addition to a salary increase.
Shortly thereafter, Florianopolis City Hall released a memo. He said that after meetings for a week with the unions of the municipal public transport companies and workers (Setuf and Sintraturb), the mayor’s office committed to lead a multi-sectoral commission to study new operational functions in the system.
In addition, the municipality will evaluate the possibility of a new profit sharing system for employees and discuss the possibility of compensatory measures for damage to all those involved in connection with the restrictive measures introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Over the past few days, we have been working intensively on the issue in order to reach an agreement compatible with the demands of the workers, the needs of the companies and, above all, so that no user is affected by a possible strike,” said Mayor Topazio Neto, who personally participated in the bidding.
